ABOUT our Team: Kaite stover

Kaite Stover

Kaite Stover (she/her/hers) is the Director of Readers' Services for The Kansas City Public Library. You’ve heard her shoot her mouth off about books on KCUR’s “Walt Bodine Show,” “Up to Date with Steve Kraske,” and “Central Standard with Gina Kaufmann.” She’s bent your ear about books and reading at YFL pop up events at Bier Station. Kaite insists you read KCPL Big Read titles like Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, The Things They Carried, Poet Laureate Joy Harjo’s An American Sunrise.

She has a bunch of awards from professional Libraryland, is asked for her opinion on books and reading from Portland to Iceland, and has published a lot of articles and books whose titles she can’t remember. During the pandemic, Kaite read and listened to far more books than she thought possible, failed to learn how to use an InstaPot, and walked streets in her neighborhood she never knew existed.
